Urgently need advice ...could my vet have diognosed my dog with cancer in error.?
2 days ago my 12yr old dogs (Bisto) back legs started to give way on him,hes been off his food a bit and seamed lathargic.i noticed weightloss was starting to show and his tummy was slightly swollen so i took him to vets (P.D.S.A) They asked had he vomited or had diarriah.(he hadnt)..The vet felt his tummy quickly and without any tests or asking me of his symptoms diognosed him with an abdominal tumor. im devastated and so confused he so quickly made his diognosis within a few seconds and advised my dog be put to sleep immediatly as he said there was nothing he could do...The vet was very vague gaving me no explantion of how, why, where, or even what kind of cancer my dog had. obviosly i was shocked and refused my dog be put to sleep there and then.My dog is genually very healthy yet the vet didnt advise of any treatment to try and cure the cancer and no alternative to at least attemp ease any pain my dog was suffering.he just recommended if i didnt want him to have him put to sleep immediatey by injection then to book him in within next few days.i felt so confused nothing was explained to me what cancer he had,or if paid for treatment at private clinic could be an option. i took my dog home and searched the internet of my dogs symptons and compaired them to symptoms of abdonimal tumour ....and they dont add up...my dog is not vomiting nor does he have diarrhia,(commen cancer symptons) infact hes eating a lot better and drinking but since going to the vets 2days ago he is now not urinating and is constipated., his hind legs are weak but still wagging his tail when taken for a little walk ..and i .see nothing on line that weak back legs is a symptom of abdominal tumour.....can i request a 2nd opinion before i take him back to vets to be put asleep.the appointment is tomorrow and im running out of time to try and save my dog, please can someone advise me he has a twin sister and she is gunna be absolutly traumatized that her soul mate has suddenly gone x if my dog looked like he was dieing i wouldnt hesitate to give him peace from his pain but he doesnt...can any vet advise me ???
